"Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?" Ruth 3:1
Momma Lee:
My mother-in-law, who I affectionally call "Momma Lee", is an amazing godly woman. Today, as we celebrate her 50th birthday, I would like to share some encouraging thoughts about how to have a great relationship with your mother-in-law. <3
#1 Talk to Her
The more I get to know my mother-in-law, the stronger our relationship grows. Take her out on a coffee/tea date and just ask her questions about how she raised your husband. She'll share some hilarious and memorable stories. ;) Get to know her talents and abilities, her joys and trials, and her godliness/wisdom. You'll treasure and appreciate all that she is/has to say. <3
#2 Listen to her Advice
This woman raised the man you married. Remember that. If she knows how to raise a good/godly kid to be a wonderful husband/father, don't you think she might have some good advice to impart on you? (Ruth 2:22, 3:6) I have so many quotes that my mother-in-law shared with me that I have never forgotten and have implemented in my life. :)
#3 Encourage her as a Grandma
It's important for your kids to get to know her and spend time with her. Find ways to encourage the relationship between grandma and grandkids. Play dates, evenings together, phone calls or skyping, and crafts for birthdays and holidays are all great ways of growing the bond! :) (Ruth 4:16-17)
#4 Appreciate her
Whether you realize this or not, she looks out for you. She wants to help ease your burdens. (I'll never forget the laundry late-nighter. Thanks, Momma Lee!) She wants to be a blessing to you and encourage you as a mom and wife. She prays for you and thinks of you often. (Ask her. It's true!) Appreciate all that she does and show gratitude to her!
~ Momma Lee. I love you. I never imagined how much I would care for you and be grateful unto you. You are wonderful, beautiful, and an amazing woman. I look up to you and have great admiration for all you say and do. You are a great example to me of a faithful wife, loving mother, and wonderful friend. You are a strong godly woman whose heart is spectacularly beautiful. Thank you for caring for me and my family. Thank you for being my "Naomi". Happy birthday! :) ~

Devos & Humor
Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom. (1 Kings 10:8 KJV)
Readers:
I have books everywhere in my house. My bedroom, my bathroom, my living room, even my kitchen. I love reading books and study books and even... smelling books. LOL
This past weekend though I was felt burden to share with you two kinds of books: Devotionals and Humor. <3
Devotionals:
These are great to help support you as you study and read your Bible. They are encouraging and interesting. Here are my two recommendations:
A Heart for the Lord by Mrs. Gibbs. Buy it here. This book is wonderful. Each page is a short devotional. She shares her life stories with you and gives you an encouraging thought for the day based on scripture. I have been reading through it and enjoying it immensely. (Titus 2:3-4) :)
My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers. Buy it here. This is another great devotional. It is perfect for a daily read. A friend of mine is using it and absolutely loves it. She says it has helped her grow in her faith. (1 Cor. 11:1) :)
Happy Books:
Encouragement by Mike Ray. Itunes version. Order it here. I only have the first one, but I plan on getting the rest. I use this, believe it or not, as a bathroom reader. The chapters are super short. There are comics inside that are hilarious. Each chapter has inspired me and brought me laughter. Great book! (Proverbs 17:22)
Read:
Let's get rid of books that draw us away from Christ and replace them with those that encourage us and draw us closer to Christ. Take 5 minutes and read a short devotional. Having a bad day? Laugh at a comical godly book! :D It might brighten your mood or lift your spirit.
ENJOY :D
