Happiest Ever

"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4

Real Life:

Dishes in my sink, laundry pilled up, tired eyes, and exhausted body. Yet, I have three sleepy babies in my home and just finished my Bible reading (a daily ritual).

I realize that many look upon me and question whether I am happy and whether I am content... thinking I'm a little nutty for having three kids in three years.

Psalm 127:3 "Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."

But truly, I am blessed. I am content. I am the luckiest woman in the world. My GOD has blessed with a sweet godly husband and with three beautiful girls.

Being a mom is challenging... but everyday, it is rewarding and a joy! I love seeing my daughters discover the world around them. I love snuggling with them and giving them hugs and kisses. I love watching them learn and try new things. They have warmed my heart. I am blessed to be their mom. <3

Yes, I have moments of struggles, frustrations, and even tears... but I've grown through them and matured into the woman I ought to be. I'm grateful for the lessons they have taught me.

My husband and I have grown in our marriage. We have gone through struggles and trials, we have disagreed and been frustrated, but with God's help, we have fought for our marriage and have been overcome and are victorious! I love him so much and am grateful for everything he means to me. He is an amazing man.

(Hebrews 13:4) (Ephesians 5:21-25)

Seek God:

God has allowed me to read my Bible every day. When I do it first (priorities), he gives me much time and strength to complete my household tasks and even gives me a break as I need it.

When I honor Him and please Him with my every task, every work... He blesses my hands and takes care of me.

Have a strong Christian home. Raise your children together with your spouse. Do it with prayer and supplication, with strength and wisdom, with godliness and truth! :)

(Psalm 78:1-8) (Proverbs 14:1, 24:3-4) (Job 28:28) (Proverbs 31:10-31)

Yes, I am the Happiest I've ever been! :D

Pray for Me

"Brethren, pray for us." 1 Th. 5:25

Weird Weekend:

Anyone have times where people come up to you and specifically ask you to pray for something? This weekend, I had three separate people contact me out-of-the-blue to pray for them. It felt odd. Normally, I have people on my mind that God tells me to pray for, but this weekend, He sent them my way to ask. So let's talking about praying for others. :)

Pray. (It's Important):

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:15-16

I'll love these verses. Your prayers are very important. When you pray for others, God uses those prayers to intercede on their behalf. We don't know what God is doing in their heart, so we need to be stedfast in prayer. Sometimes the response takes awhile, so be patient. God uses your experiences and trials to train you to pray for others in similar situations. God uses your answered prayers to encourage you in your own prayer life. Write prayers down, date them, and keep track of them. Prayers that have been checked off are great at motivating us to KEEP praying! :)

Pray Very Specifically:

Make the prayers are specific as you can. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding on what is needed. (James 1:5, Luke 11:9-13, Romans 8:26) Some examples for prayers:

*General: New car for a friend.
*Specific: Needs an affordable van to fit 7 people.

*General: Good health for friend.
*Specific: Ease the back and muscles, give her rest and healing.

*General: Relationship struggles for a friend.
*Specific: Protection on marriage, wisdom and understanding, submitting to each other

Pray with Them:

The next time, someone asks you to pray for them. Stop right there and pray with them. Aloud. God says when two or more are gathered in His name, He is there. :)  When you pray aloud with other people, it encourages you and them. God is with you and is listening to the prayers. Sadly, I don't think we do this as often as we ought to. Let's change that!

Pray without Ceasing:

There is always someone who needs your prayers:

Parents?
Siblings?
Youth Workers?
Pastor?
Pastor's Wife?
Spouse? (Future Spouse)?
Friend?

There is always a need:

Salvation?
Death of a Loved One?
Sickness/Illness/Hospital Stay?
Depression or Discouraged?
Relationship Problems?
Frustrations? Overwhelmed?
Loneliness? Bitterness?

What prayers does your friend need? Have you prayed for them today?

"Pray without ceasing." 1. Th. 5:17

Recharging the Battery

"Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee." Psalm 143:8

A Dying Cell Phone:

The battery on my phone dies all the time! It's probably my fault though... I connect with people throughout the day on it (texting, phone calls, and messages), take lots of pictures of my girls, listen to relaxing music, look for new recipes and ways to declutter/organize my home. I use my phone all the time, which of course, uses the battery life.

Rough Days:

How was your day yesterday? Hard to get through?
How's your attitude this morning? A little crabby? Did everything go wrong?

Days can be difficult (Mondays especially!). Problems can be hard to get through. Emotions can be high and five minutes later, crazy low! Little kids have a way of testing emotions, keeping a home neat and organize is tough to do, and dishes or laundry pill ups create stress... life is just hard.

Daily:

"Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily." Psalm 86:3

It's so important to spend time with God as soon as we can each day. Just as we use up our batteries on our phone, we use up our spiritual battery throughout our day. We use it by encouraging others, by loving those in need, by sharing God's strength with those around us.

"But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?" Job 28:12

How can we use wisdom if we don't first receive it from our Bible? (Job 12:13, 28:28, James 1:5, James 3:17)

How can God be our encouragement and strength throughout our day if we don't first connect with Him? (1 Peter 5:8, Isaiah 35:3, Psalm 1:2-3)

Charge it:

Did you plug yourself into your spiritual battery charger? Have you spent time with God in his Word? Have you sat down for just a few minutes and read some encouraging words in the Psalms? (Psalm 42:1)

Plug yourself in God's Word today and be charged for your day!

The One about Food

"He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth..." Psalm 104:14

Food is Important:

As we grow up and learn to care for ourselves, we learn to that eating the right kind of foods is important. Eating fast food, junk food, and processed foods, isn't really a benefit to our health and in fact, cause problems in us. I was recently talking with a friend, who not only lost a significant amount of weight because of diet changes but also was able to get rid of some chronic health problems! :D

God designed food. He created it. (Gen. 1:29, 9:13) He wrote a BIG book and teaches us about how to live our life right. He teaches us the straight and narrow way. (Matt. 7:14) He also wrote about some good foods (list below). Some foods were even used in the tabernacle and temple of God! (The benefits of those foods are incredible!) We consider the Bible to be the base for our spiritual walk and well-being, but how about our physical one? :D

Changing Habits:

How do you change from eating foods that hurt us to eating foods that benefit our bodies and help us grow right? S-L-O-W-L-Y. It takes time. It takes work.

I have been slowly improving the foods my family eats. I began by going whole wheat grains, then switching store-bought eggs for homegrown ones, afterwards using mainly coconut and olive oil for cooking and baking. I switch snacks, now using wheat crackers and hummus or almond/cashew nuts. I don't drink energy drinks or sodas, but water, juices (diluted), milk, or tea. These are just a few small examples to help you get started.

You can't switch an entire diet and get rid of all the bad foods in a month or even a year. Growing (in anything) takes time. As Christians, we live by faith. If you are doing the best you can with food, then keep trusting God to nourish you. My great-grandma, when she was a girl, would pick up crumbs and thank God for them. She would also scrap mold for old cheese and eat the rest. God careth for the birds of the field, he will care for you! (Matt. 6:25-34, 1 Peter 5:7)

Ideas & Tips:

Learn to keep trying new foods. The first time my daughter had cucumbers, she hated it; the second time, she ate a piece; the third time a slice with ranch... now she enjoys them with dips. (Your taste buds take time to adjust to new flavors.)

We have taught our girls to say "I will try" even when they would rather say "I don't like it". This advice is good for kids and adults. ;) (Maturity comes by being able to eat foods you don't naturally prefer... kinda like our spiritual walk, right?)

Do research about the benefits of a food. It's fun learning about new foods. I recently tried Persimmons for the first time and loved them! We enjoy a whole box of them this past summer. I also discovered that almonds have given me great energy even with a few pieces. The girls and I love dried dates!! So yummy! :)

Lastly, maybe there's a snack or treat you really love that you could make at home. My husband and I both love energy or protein bars and would buy boxes of them with little variety and added unnecessary ingredients, so I decided to make them homemade! We love them!!

I found this list online of all the foods found in the Bible and thought I'd share it with you. It's a great list with references and information. I loved discovering all the different kinds of foods God writes about it. :D Here is also two links about some "superfoods" in the Bible! (Link 1, Link 2

Doing a Good Job

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6 KJV

Pride means: "a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc."

Pride, The First Sin:

Before the world was made, Satan (also called Lucifer) committed the first sin. He had pride in his heart against God, who is the creator of all. He wanted to raise himself, above his position and wanted to raise himself up above God Himself. He believed he could be like God. (Isaiah 14:12-15) He had inner pride.

The Pharisees were also known for the pride they possessed. They wanted to get noticed for the good things they were doing. They openly prayed and fasted. They tithed and gave of their treasures. (Luke 11:37-44) They had outer pride.

Convicted:

This past week, I have wanted to post several times, but stubbornly refused to. I know what God wanted to me write about..... but I didn't want to do it. So here I am finally writing what God has convicted me of.

I have been working so hard on doing what's right. I had been living my life for the Lord. I have been reading my Bible, living by convictions, raising my girls to know God, submissively loving my husband and serving him.... but all the while, inwardly.... desiring to be recognized for it. I wasn't wanting public recognition but inwardly I had pride against God. I knew it too.

Everyday, for the past week, the main thing God kept showing me is that I had pride in my good works. That is a sin against God. He says in His Word: "all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags". I have apologized to God and confessed my sin.

I also confess to you... and encourage you to realize that we must all humble ourselves before the Lord. Whether now and here on earth, or up in heaven for the Almighty God. (Romans 14:11)

Your Pride?:

Do you boast about your good works? Do you want recognition for it?
Do you brag about the skills/talents you have?
Do you show-off your good looks or amazing possessions?
Do you boast in your riches and wealth?
Do you brag about your children and their abilities?
..........Or do you have inner pride?

Watch out!

Everything we have (children, assets, riches, possessions) can be taken away from us at a moment (just read the story of Job chapter 1).... even our lives. They are all gifts from God, who created EVERYTHING. :D (Genesis 1-2)

Let us confess our sin of pride and humble ourselves before the Lord. (Psalm 32:5, 1 John 2:16-17) He shall not despise a broken and contrite heart. (Psalm 34:18)

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." James 4:10
